I am accepting new patients. My experience has taught me that healing is a journey we most often do not venture alone. Mental health, like physical health, is a lifelong journey. With life changes, some experience anxiety, grief, or trauma that hits with a sudden agony similar to breaking a bone. For others, depression parallels chronic pain, as a daily weight a person carries for years and yearns to set down. I see myself as a guide, providing insights, recommendations, and tools grounded in scientific evidence.

I specialize in Reproductive Mental Health which includes mental health challenges during the particularly high risk times across a woman's lifespan; pms, perinatal (antenatal, pregnancy and postpartum), perimenopause/menopause. In addition to working with pregnant and new moms, I work with women experiencing the challenges of parenting, couple transition to parenting and midlife challenges. These highly vulnerable times require compassion and support which I provide through counseling/therapy and if warranted, medication. Social support is a very effective means for getting better. Deanette James specializes in providing mental health medication management to women, especially those in the working-class group, who are experiencing the burdens of life. If you are a woman who is a wife, a homemaker, a mother, a professional, a daughter, has family responsibilities, or other factors contributing to a decline in your mental health, she is the person to see. Her services focus on women experiencing anxiety, depression, and PTSD. She understands that these disorders are very prevalent and act as determinants of the outcome of a woman's daily life.

I am a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner with a master’s degree in psychiatric nursing from Seattle University. I have experience working with diverse client populations in both inpatient and outpatient settings and strive to create an environment of collaboration and acceptance. I focus on a holistic, client-centered approach and have training in both trauma-informed care and motivational interviewing. I use an individualized approach focused on evidence-based practice to assist clients in their recovery and wellness journeys.

I am a doctorally prepared psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner and have been a registered nurse for over 20 years, helping families cope with change, from childbirth to end-of-life. I provide life coaching for managing life transitions and relationship challenges. I've treated patients with a wide variety of mental health conditions including anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, ADHD, personality disorder, insomnia and other common psychiatric diagnoses. In addition to prescribing medications when necessary, my focus with psychotherapy is to assist people with achieving their goals.
