I am a Board-Certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner dedicated to providing comprehensive, trauma-informed, and inclusive mental health care. I am a doctorally prepared nurse practitioner with training from Pacific Lutheran University and Johns Hopkins University. I bring 10 years of experience working in a variety of healthcare settings. I use a patient-centered collaborative approach to treatment and recognize that health is a complex system shaped by people’s environments, family systems, genetics, and lived experiences.

In my role as PMHNP-BC, I am trained in the treatment of psychiatric illness of individuals across the lifespan (age 6-65), especially those with adjustment disorders, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), eating disorders, post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), psychotic disorders, bipolar disorders and trauma-related disorders. I have practiced with diverse populations across a variety of settings including: Consult-Liaison Psychiatry Service, Eating disorder, School-Based Psychiatry Program and Child, Adolescent and Adult Psychiatry Outpatient settings.

Dr. Hopkins (she/her) received her Doctor of Nursing Practice from The University of Alabama in 2013. Dr. Hopkins holds two Masters degrees in nursing from Troy University (conferred in 2007) and The University of Alabama at Birmingham (conferred in 2017). She is dually board certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric/Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. uring Dr. Hopkins’ many years of clinical experience she has worked in a variety of clinical settings as a nurse practitioner to include mental health/psychiatry, emergency medicine, internal medicine, family practice, women’s health, pediatrics, and geriatrics.

CURRENTLY NOT TAKING PATIENTS. I take a cognizant approach of relating mind, body (biology), spirituality and its interface with ones lived experiences to arrive at some semblance of wellness. My theoretical framework is guided by evidence based treatment practices, research and human development. A thorough evaluation will help to formulate a treatment plan which could include medication alone, psychotherapy or a combination. I work alongside other therapists if one is already involved.

I specialize in treatment and services for children, adolescents, and young adults (ages 6-18). I am interested in assessing both the patient and family dynamics to create a holistic and behavioral approach to Psychiatry. Treatment modalities include medication management, partnering with therapists and schools, and building stronger families. In addition, I enjoy working with children, adolescents, and young adults with Developmental Disorders, Autistic Spectrum Disorders, Asperger’s, and LGBTQ+ related issues. I am an avid science fiction aficionado, Star Trek enthusiast, and friend to animals.

I focused my Doctoral research on behavioral interventions for substance use and I believe that success in mental healthcare comes from shared decision making, treating you as a whole individual and creating sustainable treatment plans for a lifelong change. I was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest and I am a long-time resident of Seattle. I have worked extensively in community mental health and homeless services and I have addressed a wide range of mental health concerns from my past work as a case manager and registered nurse.

Nina Chandler provides comprehensive psychiatric care for all ages, focusing on wellness and collaboration, and has expertise in women’s mental health, especially postpartum mood disorders, adolescent mental health, depression, anxiety, OCD, Bipolar Spectrum Disorders, and management of severe and persistent mental health conditions.

I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with Prescriptive Authority. I provide comprehensive psychiatric assessments, medication management, and brief therapy to children, adolescents, and adults. My areas of special interest include ADHD, Autism spectrum disorder, Bipolar disorder, Anxiety disorders, and Depression. Before nursing, Nobu was a high school chemistry and physics teacher in the Lake Washington School District. She brings knowledge and experience with school accommodations to her work as a provider.

Dr. Celina Egemasi is a Dual Board-Certified Nurse Practitioner who is qualified to practice in both primary care and psychiatry; diagnose, treat and prescribe medication for children, adolescents, adults and elderly. Some of her practice specialties include (but not limited to) Depression, Anxiety, Bipolar, and Schizophrenia. She graduated from Walden University with her Family Nurse Practitioner degree and Brandman University with her Doctorate of Nursing Practice and Post Masters in Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner degree. Meet Charles – a board-certified Family Psychiatric NP and a devoted former Navy Corpsman. With 20+ potent years of medical experience, Charles is an alumnus of Saint Louis University holding a Master’s in Nursing. He has championed different branches of medical sciences, including Oncology, ICU, and community mental health. Charles has marked his expertise in treating individuals across all ages, from 5 to adults. Applying a holistic approach, he addresses a diversity of mental health issues, including mood disorders, anxiety, ADHD, eating disorders, trauma, and more.

Psychiatrists are the only doctors who don't look inside the body to assess a problem. Think about it; all other doctors use imaging and labs to look inside a person’s body when making a diagnosis. That coupled with your symptoms is how they determine what the problem is. Unfortunately, mental health providers have learned that how a person feels is their only tool in assessing somebody. Because of this, psychiatrists often have no idea what’s causing the problem. This limits the treatment options to a prescribed “band-aid" that is used to reduce symptoms, instead of addressing the underlying cause of a problem.
