My approach to practice involves cultivating well-being with a variety of tools, including medications, complementary therapies, and exploration of physical and mental health intersect. I have found that I am a good fit for people who are interested in a holistic approach and motivated to take steps toward comprehensive evaluation and treatment. I especially enjoy working with adults on the autism spectrum who were diagnosed later in life.

As a Board Certified-Family Practice Nurse Practitioner, I am proficient in performing assessments as well as prescribing and managing medications for a multitude of disease processes. I have worked in a variety of settings where mental health was of the upmost importance and feel strongly that mental health needs are a priority in healthcare. I believe in discussing and tailoring treatment to your individual needs, taking into account the “whole person” you are and paying close attention to not only your mental health, but the factors that may play a part in your mental health needs. Ms. Foote is now accepting new clients at Mindful Therapy Group in Mountlake Terrace. She specializes in children, young adults, and individuals during Parapartum period. Often people are struggling with life challenges where it feels overwhelming or it is just not possible to reach out to family and loved ones. She actively listens throughout the treatment process to assist the client to realize the underlying vulnerabilities and struggles that contribute to their mental health challenges. Her work is to assess the etiologies (biologic/genetic/social influences) that contribute to your mental health struggles and challenges.

I aim to provide a positive and holistic approach to medication management. I think it is important to find balance in your life and it starts with improving self-esteem and good self care. I use a person centered approach meaning you are in charge, we go at your speed and things should always be within your comfort level. Ultimately, I want to hear your story in whatever way you want to tell it. I believe in a trust based relationship with mutual understanding and shared decision making. My goal is work with you on being the best version of you and being there to support you in your mental health journey.

I believe that individuals are the best experts on themselves and their health. I assist each patient in setting their own goals and charting their own best direction. After a thorough diagnostic evaluation, I work with patients to develop a care plan which may include some combination of nutritional adjustment, exercise, counseling and medications when appropriate. My therapeutic approach builds on my earliest nursing training and is eclectic. I draw from many modalities and have extensive experience in inpatient crisis intervention as well as outpatient care with patients with multiple mental health and medical co-morbidities.

Ethiopia Zerfu is a Certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner with two decades of experience providing high-impact healthcare in Washington State. Ms. Zerfu earned her bachelor’s from the University of Washington. Her master’s degree & education from Temple & Walden University. She is doing her postmaster's degree. She has worked in various specialties and has found her passion in psychiatry. Crafting her therapeutic alliances to be free of judgment and full of support, Zerfu caters to the whole-person whilst implementing evidence-based practices. She greatly values patient-center care.
