I am a board certified psychiatric nurse practitioner with a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) who is deeply committed and enjoys providing high quality and holistic care via in person appointments and telemedicine. I offer both medication management and psychotherapy to individuals across the lifespan suffering from Anxiety, Depression, ADHD, OCD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Personality Disorders, Bipolar Disorder and Schizophrenia.

I am Dr. Svetlana Yakov, board certified psychiatrist with combined background in medicine and neurology in academics, clinics and research, author of USA/international publications and presentations in neuroscience/neuropsychiatry. I treat a variety of mental disorders including depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, PTSD, ADHD, schizophrenia, substance use disorder and I specialize in treatment resistant mental illness that are not responsive to prior medications.

Dr. Yaple earned his medical degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences in 2003. He then moved to Richmond, Virginia where he completed his internship and residency in General Psychiatry at the Virginia Commonwealth University Health System, and then went on to complete his fellowship training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry in 2008 through VCU at the Virginia Treatment Center for Children.

I am a Board Certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner who is passionate about working with young people who are discovering where they exist in this world, struggling with new or existing mental illness, or questioning their identity. I feel that this population is unique and requires someone who is willing to see the whole picture and to educate, listen, and empathize with them and their experiences.

What sets my practice apart from other providers is my specialty in women mental health needs as they navigate the hormonal changes through each phase of their lives. These transitions and conditions include PMDD, PMS pregnancy, perimenopause, menopause and post menopause. My dual degree as a family nurse practitioner has allowed me the expertise in this area and to offer a unique servce to all my clients. I offer an integrated and holistic approach that is dedicated to helping you create an emotionally balanced life.

I work with patients with a variety of issues, including ADHD, depression, anxiety, panic attacks, and issues with attention and focus. I provide evaluation and diagnosis for ADD/ADHD for adults and for children age 10 and up. As a dual-board certified Psychiatric and Family Nurse Practitioner, I am able to offer a holistic approach to treatment in order to achieve optimal physical and mental health.
