I am a board-certified psychiatrist with over 35 years of experience in psychiatry. In addition to my career as a psychiatrist, I was ordained as a Christian Minister in 1999. I founded Vine Psychiatric Associates to provide healing based on modern psychiatric practice while integrating a spiritual approach. I provide medication management along with counseling (using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Interpersonal Therapy approaches).

I am a board-certified child, adolescent and adult psychiatrist, offering culturally-sensitive, trauma-informed, LGBT-inclusive and highly-individualized care to children, adolescents and young adults. I work with individuals to build treatment plans that play to their strengths, address everyday challenges and achieve their goals. I treat a range of concerns through a tailored combination of individual therapy and/or medications. My particular strengths and areas of interest include anxiety disorders, OCD, depression, ADHD, insomnia and gender dysphoria among many others.

While it’s necessary to target the symptoms that lead someone to get help, but it is also important to understand that people are much more than the symptoms they are experiencing.

I find that it is of high importance to identify the root cause or foundation of illness and disease as a means of successfully treating and/or healing disease! Unfortunately, medicine as practiced today is rushed and therefore, no longer prevents or effectively treats disease. Thankfully, I believe it is my privilege to be involved in helping people truly experience health, or wholeness, which is always a result of a healthy mind, body, and more importantly, spirit! My ideal client has audacious faith to know that things can, will, and always change for the better when you fight for and persist in it!

I hope to create an environment where my client can be completely transparent in order for me to provide the best possible care to them. I also hope to build a relationship based off of trust and effective communication. The issues my client would have would either be a certain mood disorder that needs to be addressed or they are struggling with addiction. Their ultimate goal would be to address the problem because they want to live a life where they don’t feel hindered by their diagnosis. In addition, we together will come up with reasonable solutions to help alleviate and manage their diagnoses.
