I am a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP-BC) . I do believe that every patient is seeking someone that is capable of listening and processing their care with them. I believe that all patients are capable of happiness and success and it is my role as the PMHNP to help patients with this quest. I am culturally competent and understand the importance of acknowledging and respecting the patient's belief and opinion before working out a treatment plan.
Helping my patients to a degree of functionality is a priority. We operate under the supervision of a psychiatrist so there is enough resources to work out a treatment plan. Mental illness needs accurate diagnosis to properly treat. I will go through a detailed interview with my patient and then work out a diagnosis and treatment.
