Hello. I provide individualized medication management and therapy for adults with conditions such as depression, anxiety, insomnia, mood disorders, and problems related to trauma/PTSD.

I am a Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. My experience includes Depression, Anxiety, PTSD, ADHD, and OCD. I believe that together we can work to establish a medication regimen designed to increase your quality of life and minimize symptom presentation. I treat adult patients 18-64 years old. I am an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse with a Master's Degree in Nursing that includes a focused concentration on Psychiatric Mental Health. I am a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society and Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.

Dr. Alfers is a board-certified psychiatrist specializing in adult psychiatry. He has been practicing for over 11 years. Dr. Alfers takes a comprehensive approach to patient care. He integrates biological, psychological, and environmental factors into treatment planning. He focuses on developing a meaningful therapeutic relationship and providing medication interventions for specific treatment goals. Dr. Alfers provides interpersonal psychotherapy in conjunction with medication management services. A typical follow-up visit averages 20 minutes.

Dr. Waits is board certified in General Psychiatry, Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, and Lifestyle Medicine. She is a military veteran and has served innumerous leadership and academic positions over the course of her career, primarily in hospital-based settings and during combat tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. Dr. Waits treats a wide array of mental health conditions in individuals of all ages. She enjoys providing holistic, collaborative, patient-centered care that is focused on identifying and addressing the root causes of symptoms, including early childhood events, medical conditions, environmental factors, and nutrition.

Accepting New Patients: I am passionate about partnering with patients and their families to work together to address mental health conditions along with life transition issues. I work with women and men of all ages with various mental health issues, including pregnant and postpartum women. I use a combination of coaching, therapy, medication management, and goal setting to help patients develop a plan of care based on their goals. As a nurse midwife, I have expertise in women's mental health issues. I also have expertise in treating adults transitioning to college or the workforce and adults in role transition.

I am an experienced board certified psychiatric nurse practitioner and family nurse practitioner. My approach is top down, looking at every facet of your life, genetics, nutrition, and environment to understand what informs your symptoms. With all the stressors of life, self care and self compassion take a back seat to worry. Eating healthy, getting sunlight, and calming your nervous system can put you back in the driver's seat. My ideal patient is one with a motivation to improve their current mindset, situation, emotions, and lifestyle. The PMHNP compassion group provides care for the mental health community to render medication management. A group of professionals came together to share experiences and offer mutual support to the mental health community. Within the compassion group, the providers have experience in providing strategies for managing stress. The provider offers professional medication management to assist patients with psychiatric disorders fully. A professional approach to a more comprehensive treatment can address all Depression, Anxiety, ADHD, and Bipolar Disorders. Other Therapies and modalities are offered through referrals. Brence Brooks is a psychiatric and mental health nurse practitioner, board-certified through the American Nurses Credentialing Center in 2020. He received his bachelor’s degree in Nursing from the University of Louisville and his master’s degree in Nursing from Walden University. Specialty areas include medication management for major depressive disorder, bipolar I and II disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder, childhood behavioral disorders, psychotic disorders, and post-traumatic stress disorder.

Maggie is a board-certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC). She has a Master of Science in Nursing from Vanderbilt University School of Nursing, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and minor in Neuroscience from Miami University. Since 2013 she has worked in various settings, such as: community mental health, private practice, corrections, and skilled/assisted nursing facilities. Maggie specializes in geriatric psychiatry, anxiety disorders (including post traumatic stress disorder, panic disorder, and generalized anxiety disorder), mood disorders (including major depressive disorder and bipolar disorder) ADHD.

With four years of adult-gerontology psychiatry experience, she specializes in anxiety, depression, mood disorders, ADHD, and trauma in adults 18+. Passionate about providing evidence-based, compassionate care, Helen is dedicated to serving patients from diverse backgrounds, particularly those in underserved communities. Helen champions patient empowerment, guiding her patients to take control of their health and emotional wellbeing.

Dr. Romanow is double board-certified in Adult Psychiatry and Forensic Psychiatry.He graduated summa cum laude from the University of Pittsburgh with a Bachelor of Science degree in Sports Medicine/Athletic Training and then attended Drexel University College of Medicine. After medical school, he completed his residency in Adult Psychiatry at the University of Virginia, where he obtained a certificate in additional psychotherapy training.After residency, Dr. Romanow completed a fellowship in Forensic Psychiatry at the University of Virginia.

Dr. Stansberry’s practice focuses on medication management and also incorporates supportive therapy techniques, typically in 30-minute follow-up visits. In some cases, Dr. Stansberry may believe that additional therapy is also needed and ask that you bring a therapist into your care team.

She received her medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia/VCU in Richmond, Virginia. She then traveled to Greenville, South Carolina where she completed a General Psychiatry residency at Greenville Health System/PRISMA. She then returned to Virginia to complete a Child & Adolescent Psychiatry fellowship at The Virginia Treatment Center for Children/VCU Health System.
