Alana Chaffee is a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with a passion for helping individuals achieve optimal mental health. She has 10+ years experience as a Registered Nurse, in the ER, ICU and Radiology, caring for individuals and their families with physical and mental health needs. Throughout her career in healthcare, her passion to work in mental health continued to manifest. At the end of her Family Nurse Practitioner program, she, quickly and excitedly, decided to follow that passion and become certified as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.

Thank you for your interest in my practice. I am a residency trained psychiatrist, and I run a solo practice on the outskirts of Richmond, Virginia. I prefer to do psychotherapy as well as medication management (when one or both are appropriate for a patient), and I believe this makes me unique. You might perceive a psychiatrist as just being someone who orders medications, and leaves the "talk therapy" to someone else. As my patient, however, you have an "all-in-one" experience, and that will allow you to return to your normal self as quickly as possible.

I am Family Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over 10 years of experience, providing medication management and adjunctive psychotherapy to children, adolescents and adults. I believe in a multifaceted collaborative approach to patient-centered care. My focus is on the whole person, including medical, emotional, social, and spiritual aspects. Medication management is just one element of a successful treatment plan and that supportive therapy and teaching coping strategies are valuable tools in treatment. I am currently accepting new patients in the Glen Allen office and/or telehealth.

Jessica (she/her) specializes in the Psychiatric assessment and treatment of children, adolescents, and young adults. She has over 20 years of experience treating PTSD, Anxiety, Bipolar Disorder, Depression, Anxiety, OCD, and ADHD- among other mental health concerns. She knows that medication doesn't solve every problem, but can be a necessary tool that aids in supporting therapeutic goals for long term healing. Having worked in a children's psychiatric hospital for much of her career, she is very eager to prevent higher levels of care when possible.

We are currently accepting clients ages 6 and older. We specialize in treating clients with Depression, ADHD, and Mood disorders across the lifespan. We understand that it can be overwhelming and quite stressful when seeking a provider to assist with your behaviorial health needs. Are goal is to provide a therapeutic and supportive environment so that our clients can feel safe and comfortable. I have a passion for mental health and make a commitment to my clients that I will care for them as I would a family member. I’ve been a nurse since 2002 and worked in the Neuroscience Unit and Surgical Trauma ICU at VCU. In 2012, I graduated from VCU with a degree in Adult Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. I worked with inmates at the Henrico Jail for several years, practiced telemedicine (before it was cool) from home for 1 year working with clients in Appalachia, and then I worked with Diamond Healthcare in nursing homes and inpatient for crisis and substance abuse. Most recently, I worked for Zoe Therapy Services.

Victor Nwagwu is a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner in Virginia who has been practicing since 2023. Victor utilizes a patient-centered approach to a trauma-informed type of care. He is a certified mindfulness informed practitioner (CMIP) that utilizes mindfulness skills to provide supportive psychotherapy during medication management.
