My wide array of experience and training has helped me develop a compassionate, empathic, and holistic approach to mental health treatment. Born and raised here in St. George, being a psychiatrist never crossed my radar until my first rotation in medical school. I enjoyed the interpersonal relationships that develop with patients compared to all other physician specialties and the gratification that comes with being able to play a small part in helping someone overcome mental illness and feel better about themselves. I then decided to become a psychiatrist and completed a 4 year psychiatry residency in Pennsylvania.

We all have the ability to recover, heal, and grow. Sometimes we just need someone who sees us clearly and can offer the right treatment. By knowing your goals and the challenges you face, we can design a treatment plan to allow you to stop suffering and achieve your full potential. Alyssa is nationally board certified in psychiatry, skilled in comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and psychotherapy. Her expertise is in child and adolescent psychiatry, but she has training across the lifespan. Alyssa enjoys an integrative approach and doesn’t believe that “one size fits all.” She is aware of social, economic, family, biological, behavioral, and community factors that play into treating each individual. Many modalities are available in treatment of psychiatric disorders and she is committed to finding the best combination for her patients and families.

Steinia has 6 years of experience as a physician assistant in adult inpatient internal medicine. There, she gained wonderful experience diagnosing and treating a variety of serious medical conditions from all specialties and body systems, including psychiatry. Steinia has always had a passion for wellness, mindfulness and a holistic approach to mental health and therefore transitioned specialties to a mental health focus. She believes in the importance of combining medications and therapy with other evidence-based practices, including creating and maintaining healthy relationships, regular exercise, and improved sleep.

My focus is to help individuals heal, energize, and become aware of their inner strengths. I achieve this by providing a neutral safe space, listening to concerns, and customizing a treatment plan that may include ketamine treatments, medication management and therapy. My experience enables me to offer effective outpatient, individualized, psychiatric care. I treat a number of mental health disorders such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, OCD, bipolar disorders.

Accepting New Patients! I specialize in psychedelic assisted therapy, ADHD, anxiety, depression, and PTSD. As a former firefighter and paramedic, I also love to work with first responders. In my therapeutic approach, I integrate psychedelic assisted therapy with mindfulness-based therapy, somatic inquiry, and other forms of therapy. I believe in a collaborative process and a trauma-informed approach, ensuring a safe and supportive environment where my clients can heal and thrive.

Don't wait 2 weeks, appointments available! Dr. Lopez-Larson is a board certified child, adolescent and adult psychiatrist and received her MD from the University of Cincinnati School of Medicine. She performed her adult and child psychiatry training at Harvard Medical School training sites including Massachusetts General Hospital/McLean Hospital and Cambridge Hospital, respectively. She has been practicing for almost 20 years in a variety of settings including academic research, inpatient, residential and outpatient psychiatric services.

Dr. Spencer Lowe graduated from the University of Utah with a Doctor of Nursing Practice Degree and is board certified as a Psychiatric/Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, Family Nurse Practitioner and Certified Nurse Educator. Spencer is a member of the Utah Air National Guard with 18 years of service. Spencer has a passion for working with clients to improve their mental health surrounding depression, anxiety, ADHD and other mental health disorders to optimize health and wellness.

I am passionate about helping perinatal women and have focused much of my training on caring for pregnant and postpartum clients. This passion led me to start a podcast, The Sad Mom's Club, dedicated to helping Utah women learn about and connect to local maternal mental health resources. I also volunteer on the Postpartum Support International Utah Chapter Board as Chair of Community Outreach. I also see people experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, and trauma symptoms.
