Dr. Agustsson received his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Loyola University and his doctoral degree in Osteopathic Medicine from the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his psychiatric residency at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center/Ochsner Clinic in New Orleans, LA. Dr. Agustsson is a Member of the American Psychiatric Association, and sits on the National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners.
Upon completion of his residency, Dr. Agustsson provided emergency psychiatric services in Jackson, LA in the aftermath of hurricane Katrina; he assisted in the evacuation of over 50 patients in an acute inpatient psychiatric facility, and provided ongoing crisis treatment.
Dr. Agustsson went on to provide emergency evaluation and treatment at Charity/Louisiana University Hospital in the emergency department and hospital wards where he also taught and supervised medical students and first-year residents.
