Hi! I specialize in treating women (18+) with depression, anxiety, mood disorders, OCD, and trauma disorders. I offer an integrative approach to mental health that includes evidence-based psychiatric medications, complementary supplements, brief therapy interventions, and lifestyle suggestions. I believe that it is important to treat the root cause of the illness, rather than just treating the symptoms. I also specialized in treating patients through pregnancy and postpartum, as well as women in substance use and/or eating disorder recovery.

I aim to provide individualized care to help folks feel like themselves again. I’m acutely aware that psychiatric care is intimidating, so I invite you to look at our first appointment as a chat where you tell me all about yourself—your interests, the important people in your life and what it’s like to be you. After getting to know you, we can come up with a plan that may include medication or nonpharmacologic treatments like psychotherapy or Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS). I offer all three of these services at the clinic, and it is my goal to work with you to achieve your treatment goals.

ACCEPTING NEW PATIENTS - We help patients establish a professional relationship with a dedicated physician who knows their medical history and medication regimen. This provides the patient with continuity of care and on-demand access to a doctor through telemedicine or in-person appointments. We manage a wide spectrum of illnesses, including anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, OCD, ADHD and insomnia. Patients with these conditions have the best chance of improvement when they have regular appointments with the same physician who works with the patient in a professional setting.

I'm a firm believer that our experiences make us who we are, however, they do not define us. We all have individual and unique paths to walk on this earth, and sometimes that means taking the road less traveled. I, for one have walked many a paths that have not yet been explored, and I would love the opportunity to walk along side you as you choose to move toward healing and wholeness. I believe your state of awareness changes everything, and once you are aware, you have the opportunity to make intentional decisions that will evoke change. I offer psychopharmacological and psychotherapeutic modalities to treat the total person.

Treating patients, ages 14+, I utilize a highly individualized treatment approach in prescribing medications for a variety of diagnostic symptoms. There is no template for a human being. Therefore, I believe every person deserves to be heard, so that no nuance is missed. Patients who are struggling with depression, psychosis, mood swings, difficulty with concentration, sleep, motivation, bipolar illness, trauma, anxiety, addiction, eating disorders, and more, must be able to share freely what their specific treatment needs are. My goal is to hold space for everyone needing affordable, accessible, quality mental health care.

Substance Use Psychiatrists
How do substance and drug recovery or rehabilitation programs work?
In inpatient programs, individuals live in a facility with other clients in recovery; in outpatient programs, individuals reside at home. These facilities are staffed with healthcare professionals including physicians, nurses, psychologists, counselors, and psychotherapists. Staff often also includes people who have recovered themselves, serving as mentors and guides. These programs may use abstinence, harm reduction, detoxification, psychotherapy, and other methods.
How do 12-step programs combined with psychotherapy work?
Members of 12-step programs help each other reach abstinence and work to maintain it. These programs promote complete change in the individual’s emotional, mental, physical, and even spiritual perspectives. Some programs require that new members attend 90 meetings in 90 days. Many people do attend these programs in conjunction with their work in psychotherapy; the combination of therapy along with 12-step can be extremely effective.
How does harm reduction combined with psychotherapy work?
According to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, harm reduction prevents death, injury, disease, overdose, and substance misuse. People who choose harm reduction for substance use reduce the amount of drugs they consume. It is not abstinence-based like a 12-step program, but combining harm reduction with psychotherapy proves to be effective for many people.
Are there specific medications for substance and drug use?
There are medications approved to treat substance use disorder—such as buprenorphine, methadone, naltrexone, and acamprosate. These medications do help people cope with substance use as well as avoid the problem of relapse. Naltrexone can help reduce cravings, methadone is an opioid medication used to treat severe pain, and acamprosate may help ease symptoms like poor sleep and anxious feelings.
