Feeling one's feelings is not an easy task, to the point that we bury our big and undesirable feelings very deep specially when we are kids. I studied a lifetime to understand childhood feelings and their manifestations in children and adults. These feelings, when “repressed”, buried and suppressed for long times, create all kinds of physical and psychological symptoms, all the symptoms that nowadays we see in the world of medicine and in our world, which is full of suffering.
I am a psychoanalyst first and foremost and that is the piece of me that makes me a “doctor”. I am also a physician/psychiatrist trained in way too many areas. But what matters most is the work I do with people to help them feel their feelings. I at times but very rarely prescribe medications at really low doses too.
People who find working with me enjoyable are the adults or parents of kids who understand the value of knowing oneself and want to live their lives as full humans. Without our feelings we are neither full humans nor are we living. Without our feelings we are at best "perfect machines" with hearts of stone.
