I have been in mental health nursing for over a decade in high acuity inpatient settings here in Oregon. I am delighted to transfer this knowledge to an advanced practice role in an outpatient setting. This atmosphere allows for the authentic connection and collaborative decision making a hospital setting doesn't often accommodate.
While my focus is medication management, I incorporate supportive counseling in all sessions. With 45 minute follow up appointments as my standard, we have time to meet each other as whole people, working together toward your goals. I encourage clients who need additional support to utilize a primary therapist as well.
It feels awkward to try and fill these blurbs with flowery phrases, promises, or work jargon. Being human is hard. Connections with each other can help.
