My experience has been almost exclusively in psychiatry, working in inpatient psychiatric hospitals as both a COTA and RN. The ability to establish rapport and build trust is not based on the length of time in practice but more from having compassion and empathy for another human being. I learned through many years of working in psychiatry. My desire is to help my clients attain their goals in life, keep their eyes forward, and learn from the trials of the past. By addressing symptoms with the appropriate medication, I strive to help each client improve their life and continue to grow emotionally.
A holistic approach to an assessment of presenting problems and past experiences provides pieces of the puzzle that I need to guide client care. Professional experience, education, compassion, and a desire to leave the world a better place guide my practice. Along with effective counseling, I believe the right medication can change a person's life.
