Dr. Reid is a board-certified adult psychiatrist with over 20 years of clinical experience. She completed medical school at the University of South Carolina and Residency in Psychiatry at University of North Carolina Hospitals. Dr. Reid feels that the field of Psychiatry is unique in that it requires a collaborative, whole person approach to Medical care. She has always enjoyed this aspect of being a Psychiatrist, spending time getting to know patients, unfolding and understanding together the complex interplay of medical and Psychosocial events that create the symptoms we focus on in treatment.
Dr. Reid also enjoys utilizing various short and long term therapy modalities with her patients, including Metacognitive Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction and Psychodynamic therapy.
Dr. Reid works with each patient to create an individualized treatment plan incorporating, as indicated, Psychopharmacology and evidenced based integrative medicine concepts.
