Trained at Harvard, Johns Hopkins, and the University of Pennsylvania, I have been in the clinical practice of psychiatry, psychotherapy, and psychopharmacology in the Philadelphia area for over forty years, and provide crisis-intervention, consultation and short- and long-term therapy for children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. I have extensive experience in the treatment of psychosomatic and eating disorders, depression and suicidal behavior, anxiety, psychosis, sexual and physical abuse, and addictions, among other problems, and also provide consultation and ongoing clinical supervision for mental health professionals of all disciplines.

I am a board-certified Child, Adolescent, and Adult Psychiatrist. I specialize in the treatment of Depression, Anxiety, ADHD, and Autism in children and adults. I have additional experience treating individuals with Developmental Disabilities, Bipolar Disorder, PTSD, medical causes of psychiatric illness, and co-occurring medical and psychiatric conditions. I regularly treat student-athletes, and gifted students and have helped many people transition through many stages and positions in life. I also have experience helping people in the LGBTQ+ community.

WE ARE ACCEPTING NEW PATIENTS! North Star Psychiatry offers medication management and psychotherapy to children, adolescents, and young adults. We accept new patients between ages 4 and 25 years. Patients outside of this age range may be accepted on a case-by-case basis. We offer a hybrid treatment model with in-person visits at our physical location in Malvern, PA and telepsychiatry visits anywhere in the state of Pennsylvania. Dr. Kristen A. Bransby provides mental health services to pediatric and adolescent patients up to 21 years of age (no adults). By training and certification she is a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner and Pediatric Mental Health Specialist. In addition, she completed her Doctor of Nursing Practice and focuses on always providing evidence-based medicine. Kristen is an Associate Teacher Professor at Penn State University’s Graduate School teaching nurse practitioner and doctoral students. Kristen believes in ongoing collaboration with patients and families to monitor patient progress and maintain a state of mental health equilibrium.

Dr. James Yi provides comprehensive and individualized care for his patients while exercising the highest ethical standard. He is Board Certified in both Adult Psychiatry and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Dr. Yi completed an Adult Psychiatry Residency at The Johns Hopkins Hospital and a Fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). He has presented both nationally and internationally and has over a dozen peer-reviewed publications. He was Attending Psychiatry at CHOP and Adjunct Assistant Professor at University of Pennsylvania.

Dr. Yeo is an American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology board certified psychiatrist specializing in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry as well as Adult Psychiatry. She offers evidence-based treatment that is individualized to the unique needs of each patient with psychotherapy and medication management. She has experience working with all ages from school aged children to older adults. She often coordinates with other providers (school counselors, teachers, therapists, family physicians) to ensure comprehensive and integrated care. In grade school, I couldn’t sit still or be quiet; in college and medical school, I needed extra time to complete my assignments. I needed more time in residency than my colleagues to write my notes. Treating ADHD involves more than just medication; it’s a lifetime process about what you need to do differently than others to achieve your goals. I’ve lived that life.
