He then earned his M.D. from Jefferson Medical College and completed a general psychiatry residency at Temple University Hospital. He then returned to the University of Pennsylvania to complete his child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. He completed a pediatric surgical residency and soon after immigrated to the US where he transitioned into an advance nursing career.
