Hello, my name is Nkem. I am a Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with 10+ years of experience in the healthcare/ public health field. I understand how resilient and strong human spirits are; as they can overcome so many challenges of the past and create the life they want to live. In my practice, I take holistic approach toward making sure patient’s mental health needs are met by offering psychotropic medications and psychotherapy. I am caring for patients 11 years to 70 years old.
I am very passionate about the benefit of initiating psychotropic medications if needed. I collaborate with patient on what treatment plan that will yield expected health outcome. Medications are chosen based on brain chemistry we are targeting. If an agent is not providing the relief sought, I will work with the patient in exploring other agents.
NP Nkem completed her first degree at Monroe College, Bronx, New York with Bachelor of Science, Public Health, Magna Cum Laude. Second degree in Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Chamberlain College of Nursing, Brunswick, NJ. Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) at Purdue Global University.
