The practice of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, as well as Adult Psychiatry, is as exciting as it is varied. This specialty is truly one of the last bastions in modern medicine that allows the practitioner to 'connect' with the patient, and one where the value of the patient's input is not underestimated. My clinical interests include childhood and adolescent depression, other mood disorders, ADHD, child and adolescent anxiety disorders such as OCD, and post traumatic stress disorder. I am an ANCC board-certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. As a psychiatric nurse practitioner, I bring a unique blend of experiences to practice. With a solid foundation forged during my eight-year tenure in the United States Army, I developed resilience, discipline and a commitment to service. I attended Chamberlain University for my Bachelor of Science in Nursing and earned my Master of Science in Nursing in Leadership and Administration from Capella University. Subsequently, I obtained a post-master’s certificate as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP-BC) from Walden University.

I am a board certified adult psychiatrist with additional training in mind-body medicine. I have over 15 years of experience in NY/NJ treating patients in university hospitals, in both inpatient and outpatient settings. I also serve as an expert consultant to psychiatrists, primary care doctors, and therapists for patients who need a thorough evaluation for the appropriateness of medications. I am an adult psychiatrist with 20+ years of experience in the outpatient setting. I treat patients with different symptoms including depression, anxiety, panic attacks, phobias, OCD. I graduated from Johns Hopkins University, and then received my M.D. from New Jersey Medical School. I completed my psychiatric residency at New York University and then did a fellowship in consultation-liaison psychiatry at Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School. I remained on the faculty where I taught medical students, did research in clinical psychopharmacology, and had a faculty practice. I also completed an externship in cognitive behavioral therapy under the tutelage of Dr. Aaron Beck at the University of Pennsylvania. I have written many published articles and have lectured extensively in the area of clinical psychopharmacology.
