I'm a Board Certified, Duke-trained psychiatrist. I listen with compassion, warmth, and acumen to understand people's struggles and see their unique strengths. I'm trained and experienced in multiple psychotherapy modalities including biorhythm therapy, mindfulness, motivational interviewing, acceptance commitment therapy, DBT, cognitive therapy for sleep, yoga, and psychodynamics. I have a thoughtful, evidence-based approach to medication therapy and strive to collaborate with my clients. Dr. Reid is a board-certified adult psychiatrist with over 20 years of clinical experience. She completed medical school at the University of South Carolina and Residency in Psychiatry at University of North Carolina Hospitals. Dr. Reid feels that the field of Psychiatry is unique in that it requires a collaborative, whole person approach to Medical care. She has always enjoyed this aspect of being a Psychiatrist, spending time getting to know patients, unfolding and understanding together the complex interplay of medical and Psychosocial events that create the symptoms we focus on in treatment.

In the past thirteen years I've primarily focused on providing perinatal and postnatal care. As a mother myself, I can offer a unique perspective and support for each of your unique needs. I'm a strong advocate of therapy and medication management and provide a holistic, safe, and supportive environment for all of my clients. After graduating with a Masters in Physician Assistant Studies from Eastern Virginia Medical School, Kate spent years working in Emergency Medicine treating patients from all backgrounds and life experiences during some of their darkest moments. She is motivated by empathy and a deep understanding of the significance of mental health. She envisions a career devoted to breaking down stigmas surrounding mental health, promoting awareness, and implementing effective therapeutic interventions to empower individuals on their journey towards mental wellness.

Jordan is a board certified Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. She believes in patient-centered care, not only trusting her own knowledge but using the patient’s opinions and goals to mediate care in hopes to overall improve the individual’s daily life. She feels that involving the individual who seeks care with every decision will bring the individual closer to their goals, improve how they feel overall, and improve the outcome of care. She promotes healthy eating, exercise, and calming techniques such as meditation and yoga.

Animo Sano Psychiatry treats a wide range of behavioral health conditions, including Depression and Anxiety, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), and sleep disorders, among others. In addition to the treatment of these noted conditions, Animo Sano Psychiatry also operates an ADHD Specialty Clinic.

Dr. Katherine Laubach is a Psychiatrist who has been practicing in North Carolina since 2021. Dr. Laubach is passionate about patient centered care and focuses on treating each patient as an individual who has their own unique needs. As a part of her philosophy of patient centered care, she does not typically prescribe the chronic use of benzodiazepines (Xanax, Ativan, Valium, Klonopin, etc) and if obtaining a prescription for this type of medication is your primary reason for seeking a psychiatrist, she may not be the best fit for you and your goals. Of note, as a standard of practice, Dr. Laubach does not complete forms.

I have extensive experience working with patients across the lifespan and a variety of gender identities and backgrounds. I have treated a range of mental health disorders including but not limited to: schizophrenia, PTSD, bipolar, depression, anxiety, ADHD, autism, personality disorders, and behavioral developmental disorders.

I am a Board Certified PMHNP, with experience working with adults and adolescents with varied psychiatric disorders including, but not limited to ADHD, depression, anxiety, PTSD, personality disorders, Alcohol and Substance use disorders, schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorders to name a few. I also enjoy working with the older adult/geriatric population with disorders that include, but are not limited to Major Neurocognitive disorders, Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia. I use a patient centered approach to patient care, with emphasis on providing psychoeducation to patients and their families.
