Choosing treatment for mental health is tough - I'm here to help guide you step by step in the process. With 8 years of experience in the psychiatric nursing field prior to becoming a nurse practitioner, I gained tons of meaningful experiences helping treat mental illnesses across the entire lifespan, from toddlers to the elderly. I am here to treat each person holistically, and create a treatment plan that will fit THEM; telling someone to do something they don't agree with never works, right?
Mental health has been stigmatized for years, and even though treatment needs are becoming more available and sought out, it's not a one-size-fits-all situation. I take the necessary time to dive deep into histories and get a full picture of what I/we are working with to make sure we are agreeing on the correct treatment for each individual.
The biggest piece of encouragement I can offer to existing and potential patients is to not give up. Trying therapy or medications once, twice, or more times does not mean nothing will work. It's about finding that "click" with the right person to be a team with and have an active voice in your own treatment.
