Hello! I am a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner with experience working-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner with experience working with patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings. My experience includes treating patients with substance abuse/addiction, depression, anxiety, ADHD, and PTSD. I use the most current DSM diagnostic guidelines and evidence-based treatment to help my patients get back to feeling their best. I believe that mental health is just as important as physical health, and my goal is to remove the stigma of mental illness and teach others to make their mental health a priority.

I am a Board Certified Psychiatrist and therapist with 40 years experience. I am experienced in prescribing psychiatric medications but believe there is substantial evidence that the risks of most psychiatric medications are greater than the benefits. Abruptly stopping medication can cause serious withdrawal symptoms which reinforces the belief that people need to remain on medication indefinitely. My experience with thousands of patients has been that therapy has much more long term benefit than medications and that with good therapy most people can gradually taper off medications eventually. I have a sliding fee scale and accept most major insurance.

Welcome to the practice of Dr. Mary Beth Lardizabal at Clarity Group. I currently am limiting my practice to physician coaching and addressing mental health needs of physicians. I have limited openings at this time. I care deeply about my physician colleagues and have a passion for supporting physicians during these difficult times. I have many years of leadership experience and supporting, coaching and mentoring physicians in a large health care system.

Working together to find the most appropriate diagnoses and best possible medication or other treatment modalities for you as an individual is my goal. I believe that this can be best accomplished by establishing a mutually respectful and trusting relationship, where you will be treated as an individual, not an illness or a number.

I have expertise in addiction, trauma, emotional and physiological pain, and a range of psychiatric illnesses; I particularly appreciate the need to treat clients holistically, taking into account co-morbid issues, when such are present. I believe in a partnership with clients to enhance strengths and address, when possible, harmful behaviors, beliefs and relationships. I diagnose, prescribe and offer therapy for psychiatric and psychological problems for individuals, couples and families.

John Lichtsinn, MD is a board-certified psychiatrist and PTSD specialist. Following his medical training and residency at the University of Minnesota, he worked 11 years at the Minneapolis VA Medical Center, where he served as the PTSD treatment team’s Medical Director and taught as an Assistant Professor at the University of Minnesota. Most recently, Dr. Lichtsinn served as Director of Psychedelic Psychiatry at Intero Psychedelic Therapy specialty clinic, where he had the privilege of learning and practicing Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP).

Hello there! I provide medication management and psychotherapy services both in person in Minneapolis and online. I work with a variety of mental health concerns including depression, anxiety, trauma, ADHD, and other psychiatric illnesses. I see individuals aged 14 and up with a special interest in working with ages 16 to 40 years old. I strive to create a warm and welcoming environment so that you feel comfortable and safe as we address your mental health concerns.

I believe life’s challenges, including emotional wellness challenges, are like a team sport. You are the most important member of your team. But to play your best game, you need other team members for support, insight, coaching, and practice. My main role on the team is that of equipment manager. Your description of the obstacles and difficulties, coupled with my experience and knowledge, allows us as a team to create the best medication strategy for you. Just as the right shoes can help an athlete gain better traction, the right medication can help you engage in the other components of your emotional wellness.
