I take great pride in being present and available as a gay provider for LGBTQIA+ persons for psychiatric medication management and to offer referral services for therapy. As a Nurse Practitioner, I am trained and certified in both adult primary care and psychiatry and have dedicated the last several years of my practice to supporting the LGBTQIA+ community working in sexual health (HIV, PrEP, Hepatitis, STD care). Through this work, I realized that there are so many barriers when trying very hard to connect patients with a mental healthcare provider.
I offer initial psychiatric evaluations and medication management visits for depression, anxiety disorders, ADHD, PTSD, mood disorders, and anger management. I leverage standard screening tests and offer GeneSight DNA testing. Behavioral health therapy and counseling are referred to my wonderful counselors and therapists (LGBTQIA-friendly, of course).
My goal is to advocate for those who struggle to be heard or respected and to foster hope. I offer a supportive and welcoming approach with a non-biased and non-judgmental experience. My demeanor is to actively listen and be mindful of your situation to together craft your unique treatment plan that aligns with evidence-based practice.
