Dr. Sara Bortner is a native of Maryland and earned her Doctorate of Nursing Practice in Psychiatric Mental Health from the University of Maryland. She received her BSN from Towson University. Sara originally started her career as a Registered Nurse at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and COVID-19 relief efforts. Sara is board certified and is trained across the lifespan including, pediatrics and adults, to treat various mental health disorders.

I have more than 4 year of diverse experience. I take a holistic approach to help my clients overcome obstacles that affect the mind, body and spirit. I am committed to taking culturally appropriate evidence based approaches in order to help each client reach optimal functionality within their everyday lives. I believe it is important for me to have a collaborative professional relationship with each client so that we can collectively meet the clients needs.

Not accepting new patients at this time. I am a Board-Certified Psychiatrist in Towson, MD who specializes in medication management for adults 18 years old and over. As such, if you are already working with a psychologist, therapist, or counselor for therapy, I would be happy to collaborate. Telehealth appointments are offered to patients physically present in Maryland at the time of the session.
