I am an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Columbia University. I did my psychiatry residency at Weill Cornell Medical Center and medical school at Duke University. In our initial appointment, I spend time getting to know you, what has been causing difficulty and what you have tried previously. Once I have a better understanding of the problems, we create a treatment plan together. I can provide medication management, psychotherapy or a combination of these depending on what's best for you. I believe treatment is a collaborative process and that empathy and open mindedness are essential to the process.
When I do suggest medications, I take care to choose the most appropriate ones with the best chances of success. I also offer several modalities of psychotherapy including cognitive-behavioral, supportive or psychodynamic. I can also work with a different psychotherapist to do medication "backup".
Please call, email or explore my website for further information. I am currently having appointments through secure internet based telemedicine connections because of Covid-19 precautions.
