Hello, I am the chief Psychiatrist at Stella. Prior to starting my own practice, I was an attending psychiatrist at McLean Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital for 9 years. I graduated from Yale College with an honors degree in philosophy and earned my MD from Harvard Medical School. My first goal in working with any patient is for them to feel heard and to work collaboratively to find the right treatment plan for them. I have been lucky enough to help patients with novel treatments for depression like ketamine therapy and am always looking to incorporate more cutting-edge modalities into my practice.

I am known as a "psychiatrist's psychiatrist," a true healer, and one who is gifted at working with "challenging" situations" -- both individual and couples. I'm on faculty at Harvard Medical School and work as a staff psychiatrist at McLean hospital, in addition to my time in my confidential private practice. I'm specialized in trauma recovery, addiction counseling, and BPD treatment. I also help with depression, anxiety, and ADHD. I work with clients new to therapy as well as clients who have tried numerous therapies and/or medications and haven't gotten the results they wanted. I listen and work collaboratively with you.

I take a psychoanalytically-informed approach to helping individuals with symptom relief, emotional pain, and interpersonal growth. This involves a focus on the role of emotions in a person's mental life, a consideration of how psychological defenses may complicate achieving greater personal fulfillment, and exploration of how the relationship that unfolds between me and the patient may shed light on problematic interpersonal patterns. I integrate psychiatric medications in the therapeutic work whenever appropriate for the purpose of reducing emotional suffering, enhancing the capacity for reflection on painful experiences, and to facilitate relational understanding.

I am Board Certified in Adult Psychiatry and have been practicing since 2005. I completed my residency from Tufts University in Boston, Massachusetts and my Fellowship in Addictions from the Robert Johnson Wood Foundation.
