I incorporate psycho-dynamic, cognitive behavioral, supportive therapies, and psychopharmacological management and tailor my approach to meet your specific needs. I work with individuals and families to navigate through difficult times and I will provide personalized recommendations to address the difficulties you may be facing. I have a lot of research and clinical work in sleep medicine and can utilize cognitive behavioral therapy to help with your sleep difficulties.

I am a board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with experience treating children, adolescents, and young adults. Before transitioning to my outpatient practice, I worked in a residential group home where I provided psychiatric care for adolescents in DCF custody. My additional work experience includes inpatient pediatric psychiatric care, PHP (partial hospitalization program), emergency room consultation and MCPAP (Massachusetts Child Psychiatry Access Program).

I completed my residency training at New York Medical College at Westchester Medical Center, as well, as a two-year certification course in psychodynamic psychotherapy at New York Medical College Psychoanalytic Institute. Dr. Arcia is board-certified in Adult Psychiatry. She obtained her MD degree from the University of Coimbra (Portugal). Thereafter, she completed an internship in Internal Medicine, before pursuing residency training in Psychiatry at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center (Brighton, MA), where she also served as Chief Resident in Psychiatry. She has over 13 years of clinical experience in both in-patient and out-patient treatment of patients with a wide range of psychiatric disorders, especially in patients with medical comorbidities. She is also certified in electro-convulsive therapy (ECT) by Cornell University.
