I have been a NP for 13 years. I am certified as both a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) & a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP). Willa Thompson is a world travel doctorate prepared, board certified Family Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. She has over 39 years of health care experience and over 16 years of mental health care experience. Doctor Thompson has worked inpatient , outpatient, residential, court ordered drug re-entry and virtual care. She is a New Orleans native with compassion and a heart to serve. I specialize in psychiatric evaluations and treatment for ADHD, ADD, depression, and anxiety disorders. Mental health is complicated. I do not subscribe to the notion that mental illness is purely a biochemical process. This is an approach to medication management that combines evidence-based use of medication with careful consideration of a person’s developmental history and patterns in their behaviors, feelings, and relationships.
