As a certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) I’m here to help you with all your mental health needs, be they a lack of focus, pervading sadness, crippling anxiety, mood fluctuations, or what have you. As we know, in the context of nature and a lifetime of conditioning our very thoughts affect our feelings and in turn our behaviors. Thus sometimes we need to change our outlook to improve our lives. Medicines are evidenced based and do help, yet sometimes more is required to get to the source of our sorrow so we can heal. It can be helpful to simply have someone listen and offer reflection. I'm here for you.
While I practice “Western medicine” and do prescribe psychiatric medications, I also believe in a holistic approach practice and think that “Eastern medicine” has a lot to offer too, which gives a more global humanistic perspective. In particular yoga has been especially helpful to me personally, yet I've seen body-work and meditation do wonders for others.
I treat the spectrum of mental health disorders, do not discriminate against others based on their hx or presenting symptoms, and strive to remove the stigma of those seeking psychiatric care.
