Welcome! I am Dr. Kristopher Kast, a psychiatrist in Nashville, Tennessee. My practice is focused on dynamic therapy, also called psychodynamic or psychoanalytic psychotherapy. This is an evidence-based treatment for a number of problems - including depression, anxiety, and difficulties with relationships or self-esteem regulation - and it is well-suited to understanding and treating complexity. Dynamic therapy is open-ended and may include more frequent sessions. We will work together on a plan that best fits you.
In our work, we will build a safe and stable space needed to use the treatment relationship as your own laboratory, learning together how emotion, thought, sense of self, and patterns of relating to others impact your functioning and overall well-being.
