Board certified MD psychiatrist who has been serving Nebraska and Iowa since 2014. Born and raised in Nebraska and attended medical school at UNMC and residency at Creighton. My goal for patients is for them to become well enough that they no longer need my services. I do not want patients to just exist, but to thrive as happy and functional individuals. This often includes their relationships, professions and education. I am a medication minimalist and strive for the least medications and lowest effective dose. Much of my time is spent identifying the correct diagnosis and reducing medications started by prior providers.
I have significant experience as an inpatient psychiatrist, clinical preceptor, outpatient provider, ER consultant and consult and liaison physician. I am a trusted specialist and have had the honor of treating many other practitioners and their families. Roughly 20% of my patient load historically has been medical staff and their loved ones.
I offer superior mental health care with patients as active participants. Appointments are a combination of med management and problem focused therapy. Not 10 minute med checks where patients do not feel heard. People are not a list of symptoms and we must consider the impact psychosocial factors have on diagnosis and treatment.
