Jennifer Kraker, M.D., M.S., is a Columbia and Cornell educated psychiatrist who helps people who are experiencing arduous circumstances—such as relationship stress, family strain, career frustrations, worry, life transitions and times of crisis—live their most meaningful life. I'm often described by my patients as a compassionate doctor who "gets it," and I treat all psychiatric disorders including addictions, eating disorders, anxiety, depression, women’s reproductive psychiatry, ADHD, bipolar disorder, and OCD.
While I do not take insurance directly, I will work with you to maximize reimbursement through your insurance provider
I have specialized experience with eating disorders including anorexia, bulimia and food addition, as well as with addictions to all substances. I focus on treatment of the underlying personality conflicts that food or substances often mask. I can also offer medications including buprenorphine treatment when appropriate.
My approach is highly personal—I will work with you to find the right combination of psychotherapy, medications, and integrative treatment modalities. Additionally, I have authored numerous medical journal articles on nutrition and the brain and lectured at the UN about women's international mental health.
