My approach to patient care involves treating all of my patients with honor, humility, and kindness. I treat my patients as if they were family members, doing everything I possibly can to obtain the best outcome. I will always take the extra time to make sure my patients feel heard and understood. I believe it is critically important to treat patients of all backgrounds, races, religions, and sexual orientations with the utmost respect and to create a safe environment free of judgment. My philosophy is that the foundation of patient care is the human connection.
Even as a medical student, I tremendously valued my patients opening up, and felt so honored that they chose to be vulnerable with me. My patients would ask to talk with me, and I would find myself always staying late at the hospital to listen to my patients. Psychiatry was a natural fit as compassion and empathy drive my will to practice medicine.
Guiding a patient along their path to mental wellness is one of the greatest privileges. Psychiatry is exceptionally rewarding as I have the opportunity to be there for my patients throughout great pain and great joy. I love fostering a partnership with my patients, creating specific and personalized treatment plans for their unique needs.
