Hi there! My name is Dr. Jake Mearse. I'm a psychiatric nurse practitioner practicing in Nevada. I take a "whole person care" approach to mental healthcare, recognizing that mind and body are deeply connected. I practice a very client-centered model of care. My no. 1 rule of healthcare is that no one knows you better than you do! What you need from me may be very different than someone else with the same diagnosis. By listening and truly getting to know you, I aim to provide care that best fits your individual needs.
I've lived all over the country (and the World), but I call Hawaii home. My personality tends to reflect that. I'm casual, informal, and pretty laid back. Patients often say I'm easy to talk to and a good listener.
Our first visit should be a "get to know you" type visit. I plan to do much more listening than talking, especially for our first meeting. I want to know your story, your struggles, and your dreams. We should finish our first visit with a solid plan to help you meet your goals.
