I assist patients on their mental health journey through telehealth. Patients must have access to the internet and be able to participate in video appointments. I am open managing most diagnoses. I do not manage patients with involuntary court orders due to limitations of telehealth.

I am board certified psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner providing psychiatric services includes evaluations, diagnosis, and psychiatric medication management for such conditions as depression, personality disorders, anxiety, bipolar, and attention deficit disorders among others for children, adolescents, adults and geriatrics. My background in family practice facilitates monitoring and caring for mental health issues while considering presence or effects of acute and chronic illness which may be impacting mental health as a whole. Mental health is classically a tough subject for people-creating an environment of trust, comfort, and safety is foremost in care I provide. (As well, is a healthy dose of humor and freedom to be oneself.)

By providing medication management and brief supportive therapy at each session, we not only work towards reducing severe psychiatric symptoms with medications, but work towards improving engagement in healthy self care choices related to our most basic needs as people (e.g. sleep, diet, movement, relationships, safety, security).

Jenna has extensive practice experience in psychiatry and reproductive health has helped Jenna gain knowledge and expertise in how hormones and life-changes, such as pregnancy, postpartum and menopause, play a role in one's mental health. She has post-graduate training in perinatal mental health including the 12-hour post-graduate PPD training and the Master Clinician Summit at the Postpartum Stress Center. She helped to found, and is a former board member of, the Iowa chapter of Postpartum Support International.

I began my nursing career in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and later transitioned to working at a pediatric outpatient clinic. I felt most passionate about working with children and young adults seeking treatment for mental health and chose to pursue my Master of Sciences in Nursing at Briar Cliff University.
