I received my Bachelor of Science in Biology from Saint Mary of the Woods College, and a Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Lakeview College of Nursing. I earned my Masters of Science in Orthopedics at Grace College and my Masters of Science in Nursing from Purdue University Northwest.

Hello! My name is Jennifer and I am very excited to begin my career as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner! My mental health goals for you are being able to achieve an optimal state of health and coping skills. I will be right beside you for utmost encouragement throughout your life journey. My ideal patient is one who is willing to take the first steps into changing, allowing them to start living their best life!

I imagine my ideal client to be a person seeking treatment for struggles that they are not able to handle on their own, such as overwhelming anxiety or depression. They are invested in improving their life and functioning but may not know where to start or may have failed in the process of seeking treatment in the past. They need some guidance in getting back to a place where they are happy with their life and they need support and kindness along the way. They want to have a better understanding of themselves and their feelings with an emphasis placed on learning coping skills to help them through difficult times.

My clients come to me seeking help with various mental health conditions including depression, anxiety, PTSD, OCD, ADHD, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, substance use disorders, and many others. My goal is to work with my clients to help them find the right treatments and medications for them. You will leave my sessions feeling heard, cared for, and more hopeful.

As a psychiatric nurse practitioner, my personal statement revolves around my passion for mental health and my commitment to providing compassionate and comprehensive care to individuals struggling with mental illnesses. I believe that mental health is just as important as physical health, and I am dedicated to helping individuals achieve overall wellness. I have witnessed the impact that mental health issues can have on individuals and their families. I have seen the stigma surrounding mental illness and the barriers that prevent individuals from seeking the help they need. This has inspired me to pursue a career in psychiatry.

Ideally my patient is as invested in their care as I am. They could have a variety of diagnoses but the thing they have in common is they are willing to give the process time, are open to new ideas, and know there is no magic pill to fix all their problems. My patients want to get to the best version of themselves and are willing to try therapy as well as medications to help them reach that goal. My patient wants an empathetic, listening provider who can guide their care based on the evidence, but tailored to their individual needs.

Rhonda Palmer is a board certified child and adolescent mental health provider who began her career as a Licensed Practical Nurse serving both the geriatric population and children with terminal illnesses. She received her Bachelors and then Masters degree in Nursing from Indiana University in 2010. She was awarded her Doctor of Nursing Practice Degree (DNP) from Indiana Wesleyan University in 2017.

Just Mental Health, Incorporated, is a community-based outpatient mental health clinic owned and operated by Dr. Danielle Perkins Manning, a Black woman and native of Indianapolis, Indiana. She is a board-certified family psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner with over 20 years of experience in nursing practice, education, and research.

I am double board-certified in Psychiatry and Addiction Medicine. I believe in using both medication when indicated as well as therapy. I was trained in CBT and was given the Excellence in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy during my residency program. I use supportive therapy with each client I see. During my residency I served as Chief Resident and was awarded the Overall Excellence in Psychiatry Award as well as the Clinical Excellence Award.

Kimberly is a certified physician assistant (PA) began her career practicing in urgent care in 2017 and eventually transitioned into psychiatry. She is passionate about mental health and the importance it plays in overall health and well being. Kimberly recognizes the importance of providing empathetic, quality, and compassionate care that is evidence based, yet individualized and tailored to the patient. Kimberly is committed to helping you feel your best and helping you cultivate personal growth in all areas of your life.
