Hi! My name is Crystal Turner. I am a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who treats adults 18 and older. I treat various mental health conditions including trauma. mood disorders, depression, and anxiety. My approach is compassionate and inclusive. I incorporate education into my approach as I know well-informed patients have better outcomes. I also incorporate holistic approaches to integrate into care. I commonly work with people with history of trauma, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and psychosis.

I use a holistic approach, treating the full person rather than just symptoms. I specialize in treating Adults and Adolescents (12 years and up) with mood, self-esteem, and concentration problems, as well as working with more diffuse issues around identity, interpersonal relationships, and professional achievement. I address emotional distress and difficulties in daily living. This could manifest as depression, anxiety, insomnia, problems with intimacy or self-esteem, problems with concentration, feeling excessively angry or guilty, or trouble finding meaning in life, to name only a few.

Mandy completed her nursing degree at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore- most recently, she graduated from Vanderbilt University in Nashville. Mandy is passionate about first responder mental health efforts and women's mental health care, and loves working with children & teens. I work with people who are struggling as a result of both psychological and underlying psychiatric problems. These underlying problems can lead to problems developing or maintaining good relationships and or success at work or school. The problems can interfere with their leading a life that feels meaningful and rewarding. These problems can manifest as symptoms of anxiety, depression or behaviors that interfere with someone's ability utilize their strengths to live their life in way that works well for them.

As a provider, I enjoy connecting with clients and getting to know them on a personal level. Once I can understand the person and their journey, together we can develop goals for achieving and maintaining their mental health. I understand that reaching out for help is not always easy, but I am willing to meet them where they are. My passion is treating adults with mood and anxiety disorders, PTSD, substance use disorders, BIPOC clients, and LGBTQIA+ identifying clients. My background was in engineering and business but now I am happy to be using my skills as a psychiatrist with a special interest in psychotherapy. Dr. Onyejiaka, a Board Certified Psychiatrist and Pediatrician, received her Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Missouri at Kansas City Combined B.A/M.D. Program. She endured further training at the Tulane University Triple Board Residency Program where she specialized in pediatric medicine, general psychiatry, as well as child and adolescent psychiatry. Additionally, she attended in the New Orleans'-Birmingham Psychoanalytic Center Honorary Fellowship Program prior to relocating to Chicago in recent years. Dr. Onyejiaka is an active member of the International Society for Sports Psychiatry, the American Psychiatric Association, the American Academy of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry, and the American Academy of Pediatrics.

Christina Nguyen is a board-certified and licensed Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP). She graduated from the University of Kentucky with her bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Biology and Nursing. She then graduated from Northern Kentucky University with a MSN in Psychiatric Mental Health. Christina has extensive experience working with children, adolescents and adults diagnosed with depression, anxiety, ADHD, bipolar disorder, OCD, psychosis and post-traumatic stress disorder.
