Dr. Hattie Runzheimer is a board certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner, board certified adult and gerontology acute care nurse practitioner, critical care registered nurse, and clinical facility at University of Miami School of Nursing and Health Studies. Hattie is passionate about both spectrums of healthcare involving physical and mental illnesses. She still works in intensive care units throughout south Florida’s Miami-Dade and Broward counties. As a dedicated clinical faculty member at the University of Miami School of Nursing and Health Studies, Hattie teaches undergraduate BSN and graduate PMHNP students.
As a registered nurse, she worked in both behavioral health and critical care inpatient units. Hattie continued advancing her professional education at the University of Miami by completing her Master of Science in Nursing in Adult and Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (2019), followed by a Post-Master’s Certificate in Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse
Her acute care training focused on adult and geriatric patient populations. Her psychiatric mental health training involved patient populations across a life-span with diverse acute and chronic disorders. She has experience working in the inpatient and outpatient psychiatric mental health settings. She enjoys working with all age groups.
