I am a double board-certified psychiatrist and addiction medicine physician with added qualification in child and adolescent psychiatry. With over 17 years of experience as a clinician and educator, with specialties in Addiction Medicine, Mental Health, Detox, Medication-assisted treatment (MAT) , Pain Management, Military Mental Health, and Harm Reduction. Dr. Thorkelson is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Psychiatry and Medicine at The University of Pittsburgh. He completed his adult residency training at Temple University and his child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship at The University of Pittsburgh where he continued on in three roles: as Associate Medical Director at the Center for Integrative Medicine, as staff psychiatrist at the John Merck Center for Autism and Developmental Disorders, and through the Visceral Inflammation and Pain (VIP) Center in the Department of Gastroenterology. Dr. Thorkelson specializes in the treatment of anxiety, autism, ADHD, and depression.

Dr. Ahmed is an Affiliate Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neurosciences at the University of South Florida. He completed his residency training at Temple University Hospital in psychiatry and then joined Johns Hopkins School of Medicine where he completed a two-year fellowship in Neuropsychiatry and Behavioral Neurology. He moved to Tampa in 2016 to start his private neuropsychiatry practice, Tampa Neuropsychiatry LLC. Dr. Ahmed specializes in the treatment of psychiatric disorders including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, PTSD, schizophrenia, and adult ADHD. He also has subspecialty training in dementia including Alzheimer's and brain injuries.
