Hi, I'm Brian, Nurse Practitioner and founder of Introspect Mental Health. We offer psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and supportive psychotherapy via secure video sessions (telehealth), or in-person at our Jacksonville office located in Mandarin. Our caring and highly skilled nurse practitioners are board certified in psychiatry and primary care. We specialize in diagnosing and treating primary mental health disorders such as depression, anxiety, adult ADHD, and bipolar disorder, as well as substance use disorders in adults ages 18 and older.

Dr. Ahmed Valdes is a board certified adult psychiatrist and burgeoning Geriatric Psychiatrist. After completing his undergraduate education at Florida State University, he attended medical school at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine where he graduated with a combined M.D./M.S. in Genomic Medicine. He subsequently completed psychiatry residency at Jackson Health System/University of Miami and further subspecialized with a fellowship in Geriatric Psychiatry.

Dr. Reaghan Hicks is a double board-certified psychiatrist in General and Addiction Psychiatry. She completed her undergraduate training at The College of Charleston followed by medical school at The University of South Carolina School of Medicine. Dr. Hicks completed Residency in General Psychiatry at The University of Florida College of Medicine in Jacksonville followed by Fellowship in Addiction Psychiatry at The Medical University of South Carolina.

I am double board-certified in Psychiatry and Addiction Medicine. I believe in using both medication when indicated as well as therapy. I was trained in CBT and was given the Excellence in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy during my residency program. I use supportive therapy with each client I see. During my residency I served as Chief Resident and was awarded the Overall Excellence in Psychiatry Award as well as the Clinical Excellence Award.

I am most passionate about working with all-inclusive clientele within a wide-range of mental health needs.
