I am a psychiatrist who has been practicing since 1997, specializing in psychoanalytic therapy and psychopharmacology. I am currently entering my 4th year at the Chicago Psychoanalytic Institute for psychoanalytic training as of June 2024. I utilize other modalities including cognitive-behavioral techniques, and have extensive experience with psychopharmacology. I work within a confidential setting in my own private practice and enjoy meeting my clients "where they are", respecting each individual's needs, concerns and comfort level. My approach centers around honoring collaboration as fundamental to healing and growth.
I have worked in general psychiatry in rural Wisconsin and in Madison since 1997, and have had ongoing supervision of my therapy practice. I underwent my own psychoanalysis with a training analyst at the Chicago Institute for Psychoanalysis. I am currently a 4th year candidate at the Chicago Psychoanalytic Institute in the distance program.
As an artist, I am interested in the role of creativity in healing. I have experience in the role of mindfullness practices in the creation of well-being. I believe that the same treater doing both the medication management and therapy allows for a more conservative use of medications for many patients.
