Desert Blossom Psychiatry was started from the belief that humans are able to create beauty and peace in the face of hardship and pain, like flowers growing in the harsh desert. Our clients are people who are trying to make changes, but perhaps aren't sure how or find that their past experiences are keeping them from moving on. Many are in the process of navigating changes and transitions: dealing with loss, figuring out who they are, reinventing themselves, finding fulfillment with their work, or even simply trying to survive until bedtime. We want to provide a space to process all of that to help you move forward.
I invite you to actively participate in your treatment through use of medications and therapy. I take a conservative approach with medications and take the time to make sure you understand what you're taking. I also strongly recommend engaging in therapy and am trained in psychodynamic approaches and CBT, as medications do not fix everything!
I’ve always enjoyed getting to know people not just for what they do, but for what makes them the person they are today: you are more than just your job, what you look like, what you know, or what you can contribute to society.
