Christopher James received his DO from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, his master's degree in Public Health from Temple University and his bachelor's degree from Rutgers University. He completed his Child and Adolescent fellowship at Northwestern University/Children's Memorial Hospital and his Adult Psychiatric residency at University of Maryland/Sheppard Pratt.
