Dr. De Paz is the director of Behavioral Health for CommuniCare health centers, he received his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch and did his residency training in General Psychiatry and a Fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the University of Texas Medical Branch. After his training he worked at the Center for Health Care Services in San Antonio for 3 years and served as the Director of the Children’s program and the Dual Diagnosis clinic. He has also worked for JSA telehealth who were in the forefront of the use of telemedicine services to reach the most underserved populations in the state.
His experience facilitated the transition from clinic-based services to telehealth services at CommuniCare with the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020. He specializes in treating children with the highest level of needs who have a psychiatric diagnosis and also a developmental disability such as Autism.
