I have been in mental health for 20 years across various settings (inpatient, outpatient, emergency psych, and community treatment) and patient populations (general mental health to severe mental illness). I have earned Bachelor's Degrees in both Psychology and Nursing and a Master's Degree as a psych NP.

She treats a wide range of psychiatric illness ranging from mild to moderate anxiety or depression to persistent illness such as bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and substance use disorders. In addition, Dr. Canelos specializes in perinatal mental health and reproductive psychiatry—focusing on psychiatric disorders associated with female reproductive function including premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD), pregnancy-related mood disturbance, postpartum psychiatric illness, and peri- and post- menopausal depression and anxiety.
