As a former combat veteran I focus a great deal of my practice on trauma informed care and treating PTSD. My journey in the military led me to my career in nursing and later psychiatry. I have many patients that are current or former military, law enforcement, firefighters, EMT's and medical staff of various disciplines. I also am very experienced with treating: anxiety, panic disorders, depression, insomnia, ADHD, and bipolar disorder.
I offer medication management both in person and virtually. I like to give my patients options regarding their medications, try to do less with more avoiding polypharmacy, and chose medications with the lowest side effect profiles possible. I truly try to honor my patients wishes, goals for treatment, and find medications they are comfortable with taking.
I am a firm believer in second chances, and that every person has the capacity for change. Life is a marathon, and everyone has some room for improvement, my job is to help get you there. I also believe that no matter what phase in life you are in, every person has the right to be happy, healthy, supported and heard!
