My approach to therapy is that combining psychotherapy with psychotropic treatment is the way to go in treating psychiatric patients. I have seen in my practice that it works and that is what I do. I Mostly work with ADHD, depression, anxiety, insomnia, bipolar and schizoaffective. But I am comfortable with all kinds of patients. I can treat all the psychiatric ailments.
I use cognitive behavioral therapy. I believed in Behavioral theory, also called behaviorism. It is a "systematic approach to understanding behavior. One premise of this theory is that all behaviors are acquired by conditioning, or learning. motivation and attention are explained by cognitive theory and cognitive psychology"
Establishing a good rapport during the first session is the key to the patient-provider relationship. comfortable, that is what I make sure my patients are. They can be themselves when working with me.
