Since I was 9 years old, I knew I wanted to be a psychiatrist. I was enthralled by how humans were influenced by emotions and wanted to better understand that within myself and others. I am an NYU-trained child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrist, who uses a holistic approach to carefully understand an individual's needs. I use a mix of psychotherapy and psychiatric medicine to alleviate symptoms. My hope is that you will feel better each time we meet.

Dr. Courtney Allen is double board-certified in adult and geriatric psychiatry and specializes in medication management and various psychotherapies to treat anxiety and depressive disorders. Dr. Allen completed her undergraduate studies at Spelman College and received her medical degree from the University of Alabama School of Medicine. She completed her adult psychiatry residency and geriatric psychiatry fellowship at Montefiore/Albert Einstein College of Medicine.

Dr. Yacoub has expertise in complex mood disorders, psychotic disorders, interventional psychiatry, and advanced psychopharmacology. Dr. Yacoub focuses on the interconnectivity of the mind, body, and soul. In addition to medication management, he is proficient in supportive and interpersonal psychotherapy. He has treated adults, geriatric patients and diverse populations including and veterans. He is dedicated and empathetic to all his patients.

I am a board-certified psychiatrist and psychotherapist seeing patients in New York and California. I completed my adult psychiatry residency at Mount Sinai Hospital. I am currently completing a fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at New York Presbyterian Cornell/Columbia. Along with my medical training, I have completed additional training in psychodynamic psychotherapy, cognitive therapy, and mindfulness.

Dr. Carolyn Benson has 21 years of experience in treating adults, adolescents, and children. Her focus over the last ten years has been on working with young adults, children/adolescents, and their families. Her expertise covers a wide array of therapeutic modalities and mental health diagnoses. The primary focus of her sessions is to provide medication management with education on treatment options. She will provide therapy models that are appropriate within that 20–30 minute medication session. If longer therapy time frames are indicated, she will discuss the need to add a therapist to your treatment team to achieve optimal care.

I am a Columbia-trained psychiatrist with a New York state medical license who specializes in talk therapies (supportive, psychodynamic, and cognitive behavioral) and psychiatric medication management. I also have dual training as an anthropologist and experience working with cross-cultural mental health concerns.

Dr. David Eiler is a staff psychiatrist at Talkiatry. He is board certified in adult psychiatry. Before joining Talkiatry, Dr. Eiler was a staff psychiatrist at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center (DHMC), where he had an academic appointment and served as clinical director of transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) and intranasal esketamine services. Dr. Eiler has focused on medication management and interventional techniques, including TMS, for the treatment of depression and other disorders. Dr. Eiler received his MD from the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health and completed his residency at DHMC.

Dr. Nina Jacobs is a board-certified child, adolescent and adult psychiatrist in practice for over 20 years. She attended the University of Chicago, Pritzker School of Medicine and completed her adult, child and adolescent training at NYU School of Medicine. She has additional training in psychodynamic psychotherapy at New York Psychoanalytic Institute. Dr. Jacobs believes understanding and compassion are fundamental to the doctor-patient relationship. With an engaged, optimistic style, she provides attentive, patient-centered care to reduce troubling symptoms and restore well-being.

I have a solo private practice in Park Slope and you will always be seen by a physician.
