I have also pursued an additional two years of training in psychodynamic psychotherapy at the NYU psychoanalytic institute. I feel that most people neglect psychiatric symptoms and either suffer in silence , either because they do not realize that their symptoms are treatable or they believe that they have to be strong. Many people are on the wrong medication, on sub-therapeutic therapeutic doses. In my experience , with care and perseverance, most people can get better, and achieve a better quality of life.
