Adults: I also work with adults facing challenges with trauma, anxiety, depression, parenting, life transitions, and stress.
Children & Teens: Sometimes children go through a tough time or feel overwhelmed, and it has an impact on the whole family. Parents may feel frustrated or confused about how to help their children. They may feel that nothing will change. I partner with children, teens, and parents who are struggling with challenging behavior, trauma, anxiety, depression, anger, and other concerns that are creating a disruption in relationships. I love helping children build coping skills in order to manage what they are going through. I help parents strengthen their relationship with their child and build on their existing parenting strategies.

I have experience helping people manage stress, build self compassion, examine addiction patterns, cope with family member addiction, address developmental trauma, brave parenting challenges, and change the way they approach and interact within relationships.
To others, you seem to have it all together, but the pain of your past and future colliding keeps you up at night. Past injuries have a continual hold on you and influence your most important relationships. Acting in line with your heart does not seem possible when you're caught in these patterns. You are stuck, but things can change. Loving yourself and appreciating each moment is an attainable goal, and one that I can help you reach. Through our conversations, you will gain a better understanding of yourself and your beginnings and start to feel more peace within your life and relationships.

At the 2510 Collective, we know that sometimes life can be a lot. Sometimes our mind powers through and we are none the worse for wear. Other times, the brain gets stuck on sad or scared or angry. We want to let go and move on, but the restless nights and tiring days seem to last forever. All too often, the problems seep into relationships with the ones you love the most. During these phases of life, counseling can be the rope that you can use to pull yourself free – to get unstuck. Unstuck means you feel in control of your emotions, your body, and your thoughts. Unstuck means you feel confident and safe in your relationships.

Hi! I am honored that you would consider entrusting me with your story. People usually come to me when they are feeling exhausted, unsure, or fed up with how things are going in their lives and hoping for relief and renewal. I help people practice searching inside themselves to make sense of their feelings, heal their inner child, discover what they need and want, create better boundaries, and gain confidence to go after their biggest goals.

I lead a group (via Zoom) for parents with teens/young adults who are neuro-divergent, atypical and/or have a mental illness. The group provides emotional support and advice given in a non-judgmental atmosphere. I am a therapist, but also a parent who has (and still is!) going through these same issues. The group is safe, helpful and confidential in an environment where you can vent, commiserate, and share with other parents who are going through similar issues.

I provide a safe, trusting environment for my clients to open up and share their experiences without feeling judged or shamed. I take a warm, client-centered approach to psychotherapy, based on the work of Carl Rogers. I believe that one of the most valuable aspect of therapy is for the therapist to have unconditional positive regard toward the client. As my client, I will think the best of you, and truly believe that you are capable of great things. I am positive, non-judgmental and compassionate, and when you enter my office it will be a safe environment for you to be vulnerable and be yourself.

How to Talk to Your Child About Sex, Love and Dating is a workshop designed to help parents meet the needs of the age and stage of each child appropriately. Most of us figured "it" out on the fly, but just like driving a car, we wouldn't let our children drive without driver's education! This topic is the foundation of all healthy relationships. Come get answers to the tough questions in an inviting and comfortable environment. You will leave with clear steps and actual scripts on how to talk to your child about one of the most important topics for their future.

I support people as they go through some of life's tougher times. I do not "fix" anyone. I help people remember the truth about their worth and value and guide them as they practice living from that truth whether it's for the first time or not. When we get afraid and empty, it is almost impossible to remember this by ourselves, and we need an experienced, knowledgable and loving ally to shine the light for us through the dark and confusing times.

Parenting Support Groups

What does therapy for parenting look like?

Therapists may work with parents individually, together, or include the whole family to find solutions for the problems a parent faces. Many parent-based therapies work on a parent’s relationship with their children, problem-solving within the family, and analysis of family dynamics. Therapy conducted remotely by video may be helpful in allowing a therapist to observe how families interact in their own homes.

When should a parent seek therapy?

When behavioral problems begin to disrupt the healthy functioning of a family, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If parents find that children are acting out in school, have started using drugs or alcohol, have developed eating disorders, or other similar red flags, a therapist may be able to help.

How long does therapy take for parenting problems?

Depending on the severity of a family’s challenges and the type of treatment utilized, therapy for parenting can last from weeks to months. Cognitive behavioral therapy is a pragmatic therapy type that can be brief, most often ranging from between 5 and 20 sessions. Structural family therapy, which inspects family dynamics, often takes several months. Parent-child interaction therapy is typically shorter-term, lasting between 10 and 20 sessions. For any therapy, the duration will depend on the progress made and results realized.

Can therapy help parents dealing with burnout or stress?

Parenting is difficult. Parents may dismiss or conceal feelings of exhaustion, overwhelm, or escape ideation—imagining withdrawing from their parental obligations altogether. but left unattended, these feelings can have negative effects on the whole family. A therapist can help parents work on the skills they might need to better cope with the burdens of parenting and help them be the best parents they can be.
